Advice, Representation and Support
The United Trades Association exists to provide practical advice, representation, and support to workers facing disciplinary proceedings, grievance procedures, and workplace disputes of every kind.
The UTA works to regulate the relations between workers and their employers, supporting members to assert and enforce their statutory and contractual rights — from informal workplace concerns through to formal hearings and appeals.
Members may call upon the UTA's officers for assistance and representation at any stage of a disciplinary or grievance process, whether governed by the ACAS Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures or by an employer's own policies.
A Trade Union under TULRCA 1992
The United Trades Association is a trade union within the meaning of section 1 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992.
The UTA operates free from the control or influence of any employer or employers' association, and acts solely in the interests of its members.
The UTA is governed by its Constitution, which sets out the rights and obligations of members, the powers and duties of its officers, and the procedures by which its affairs are conducted.
